Ismel Fernandez-Calienes

APRN, PMHNP-BC

Ismel was born in Cuba where he completed three years of medical school, moved to Miami in 2012 and started his nursing career. He has experience working as a Trauma Burn nurse, Behavioral Health nurse, and ICU nurse. Ismel completed both his undergraduate and graduate programs at West Coast University in 2023. He began his journey as a psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) specializing in anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorders, and schizophrenia across the lifespan. He is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Ismel's path as a PMHNP-BC has brought him to the need of focusing and mastering his studies to help not only the bodies, but the mind of his patients. He desires to ensure high standards of culturally competent care for a wide variety of patients with diverse needs and conditions, focusing on their wellness and overall health.
